Fair Trade Certifier TransFair Teams Up With Organic Gelato Maker At Trade Thow

Blackwell’s includes fair trade ingredients in all products it sells

Red Bank, N.J.-based Blackwell’s Organic Gelato and Sorbetto said Wednesday it is partnering with fair trade certifier TransFair USA to exhibit at its booth Saturday during the 2008 Fancy Food Show in New York City.
 
TransFair is the nation’s only independent, third-party certifier of fair trade-certified products and Blackwell’s Organic is the only frozen dessert company that has at least one fair trade-certified ingredient in every flavor.
 
“Fair Trade is something we are passionate about and it was the only way we would do business,” said Marcia Blackwell, Founder of Blackwell’s Organic. Blackwell’s Organic will be sampling four of their 11 flavors at the show.
 
Blackwell’s’ Organic super premium frozen desserts are available at specialty and gourmet retailers in the New York metro area, New Jersey and Pennsylvania at a suggested retail price of $9 per pint. Blackwell’s Organic products are also available at Whole Foods Market in New York, New Jersey, and Conn.
