Tom's sister Stacy Blackwell is doing in-store demos and Judy Hirt is heading up our southern NJ and Eastern Pennsylvania demos.

And the news and photos you have all been waiting for....Our new Director of Stress Management "in training" is Tuesday - she is now only 5 months old but is sure to work wonders once she reaches her full size!

Earth Day Events

Here at Blackwell's Organic we celebrate Earth Day in a Big Way. Our calendar is jammed packed for the end of March and through the month of April.

We are working with several charities, EarthShare of NJ, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth County, Monmouth County Parks and many more.

Bring your family to the Earth Day Celebration on April 19 at the Manasquan Reservoir.

If you are a runner, you can participate in the Donna 5K Lane Memorial Run on April 27 or visit PSE&G's Global Green Event in Jersey City at the end of the month.

If you want something a little more refined, come to the Earth Share NJ event on April 12 at Dancer Farm Bed & Breakfast in Jackson. Check out our calendar of events for details on the home page of BlackwellsOrganic.com.

In The News

Blackwell's Organic is always in the news.

Change a light - Change the World

Being energy conscious saves money and makes sense. You can save money and at the same time help reduce green house gases.

This April make a pledge to change out 5 light bulbs and/or light fixtures. You will be surprised how much money you save. Visit the Energy Star website for more details.

Remember: some compact fluorescent light bulbs need to be disposed of differently than incandescent bulbs. Visit LampRecycle.org for further information.

Campaign for Safe Cosmetics

Did you know that many ingredients found in make-up, shampoo and other beauty products have been linked to cancer, birth defects and other health problems.

See how the products you use rate by visiting Skin Deep, a database of thousands of products and ingredients.

Organic Ingredients

Organic Agave Nectar: The raw agave juice is regularly harvested from living plants by Indian peoples native to central Mexico.

To do so, they must slice off the top of the plant and hollow out its core. Then the plant is capped with a stone.

The pineapple shaped agave plant secretes its nectar into the hollow center of the plant.

After several days, the milky white "juice" is removed by ladle, one plant at a time.

In a way it is similar to tapping a tree for maple syrup collection. Find out more MadHavaHoney.com
