Going Solar

Many of you may know we have a very small ranch home which has 100% solar powered electricity. In fact, we were the first solar powered home in Long Branch, NJ

We have not had an electric bill in 3 years! Pretty amazing! And our system will remain operational for approximately 30 years. So that's another 27 years without an electric bill! Tom Blackwell always says "We made a great environmental decision, but also a sound financial one."

Did you know that electric rates in NJ have increased 100% in the last 5 years? Given the Solar Renewal Energy Credits and a few tax deductions Solar System owners can break even within 9 years of installation.

If you live in New Jersey and would like to learn more contact our friends online, at GeoGenix, by calling Tom M. at 732-895-9550 or by email, gaurav@geogenix.com. They will give you details and an estimate on how " Going Solar" can actually save you money and help the environment. Please have your most recent electric bill handy when you call.

Don't forget to mention you heard about GeoGenix through Marcia and Tom at Blackwell's Organic.

Earth Day Events - Did You Get The Scoop?

We scooped gelato for many events in the month of April. Two events included Earth Day at the Manasquan Reservoir and the PSEG Global Green Expo in Jersey City.

We asked for a donation to charity in exchange for a generous serving of our gelato and sorbet. Both events rose over $300 each for Friends of the Parks and Earth Share NJ. For more information about these worthy charities visit www.EarthShareNJ.org and www.FriendsOfMonmouthCountyParks.com.

Later in the month we were honored to share our products with Big Brothers Big Sisters Monmouth County at their annual culinary event. Both Stacy Blackwell (Tom's sister)and I walked away inspired by the stories told by the "Bigs and Littles." To learn more please visit www.BBBSmonmouth.org.
